Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Account Manager in Detroit, Michigan

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs, has an immediate opportunity for an Account Manager at the Detroit, MI office. The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with the organization’s clients.

Summary Responsibilities:

  • Retain and renew large corporate business accounts, tier 1 suppliers, and OEM.

  • Develops and implement strategies to maintain and expand sales within an assigned territory.

  • Prepare a plan for each account to identify what and how short and long-term needs may be met.

  • Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.

  • Forecasts the demand for the product(s) within assigned territory.

  • Provides reports on the budget and sales activity for a given period.

  • Interfaces with the customer to understand the customer’s overall objectives and requirements.

  • Contacts customers regularly to maintain account relationships, advise of new product and service offerings, and obtain product feedback.

  • Share details with customers on additional offerings to provide value-added service.

  • Ensure that related departments provide post-sales support to assigned accounts/customers.

  • Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters during service utilization.

  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.

  • Prepares and conducts technical/product presentations and demonstrations.

  • Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing product information.

  • Provides feedback to management for future enhancements.

  • Shares ideas and customer needs throughout all cycle phases (plan, design, integrate, manage). Contributes to the monthly MRO by providing account trends and sharing future client needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, one to two years related experience and training, or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.

  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).

  • Excellent customer oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated track record of solid teamwork.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

  • Collaborative; builds and works with teams.

  • Ability to coach and mentor.

  • Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
